Robotics Technology Comes to Dallas Regional in Mesquite

MESQUITE, TEXAS (July 5, 2011) — Announcing the latest advance in its orthopedic service line. The hospital has acquired the RIO Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System, which will allow its surgeons to perform partial knee resurfacing. Dallas Regional is proud to be the first hospital in Dallas County to offer this option specifically for people with early- to mid-stage osteoarthritis of the knee that has not yet affected the entire joint. The goal of this minimally invasive procedure is to restore the patient's natural knee motion with as little bone cutting and tissue trauma as possible, for a more natural feeling knee postoperatively and a rapid recovery. This is just one of many exciting new additions for Dallas Regional Medical Center in 2011.
