In your Room
Your health is a personal matter. Therefore, diagnostic and other confidential information about you will not be released to others. We urge you to tell your relatives and friends that they should contact your family to inquire about your progress. If relatives or friends call the hospital only a general condition report can be given.
Once in your room we want to ensure that you are as comfortable as possible and therefore all rooms are climactically controlled. If at anytime you feel your room is too hot or too cold, please inform your caregiver, who will assist you. In the hospital setting, patient care is provided 24-hours a day. Part of basic care involves the taking of vital signs, bathing, bed changing and assessing physical status. Most of these are done daily. Baths are given throughout the day and as needed. For your safety, please let your nurse know if you plan to use grooming appliances such as hair dryers, electric curlers and electric shavers. Our maintenance personnel will check the item for safety and approve its use.
Patient Identification wristbands are placed on your wrist when you were admitted and should not be removed. It provides positive identification for all those who serve you and is required for your protection. The wristband will ensure that all medications, treatments and tests are administered to the correct patients; and hospital staff are instructed to double-check that the name on the patient order matches the name on the patient wristband.
