Free Screenings Available in October

Free Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screenings Offered in October

Although abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a potentially serious health threat, there is a simple medical screening that can help detect the condition. Abdominal ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of the body's organs and vascular structures.

Dallas Regional Medical Center is offering free abdominal aortic aneurysm screenings on the first four Thursday afternoons in October: October 1, 8, 15 and 22.   These screenings will be held between 2 and 4pm, and only take a few minutes.  Participants must be able to unbutton or remove their shirt or blouse.

Who's at Risk:

  • anyone with high blood pressure or high cholesterol
  • people with emphysema
  • men older than 60 years of age
  • anyone having an immediate relative who has had a AAA
  • smokers
  • people who are overweight

To reserve your time for the AAA screening, please call 972-698-3789 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
