Dallas Regional Medical Center celebrated a $6.1 million Cardiac Care Unit expansion with a “Wall-Breaking Celebration” from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008. The celebration was held on the site of the future Cardiac Care Unit at the north end of the hospital on the third floor. Local officials and community leaders participated in the festivities.
“We are extremely pleased to kick-off this important expansion project for our Cardiac Program,” said CEO Justin Davis. “This 26-bed unit features all private suites and is a significant addition to our two busy Cardiac Catheterization Labs and Open Heart Surgery Program. This will enhance the cardiovascular services we are able to offer to the people in Mesquite and surrounding communities.”
Architects are Helman, Hurley, Charvat and Peacock Architects, Inc. (HHCP) based in Florida. Dallas-based Beck Group is the general contractor. Construction is anticipated to take six months for a summer 2009 grand opening.
“We are proud to be able to invest $6.1 million into the hospital serving the community in this time of economic hardship,” said Davis.
Dallas Regional Medical Center is licensed for 176 beds, has more than 300 physicians on staff, and employs more than 600 staff members. It is the mission of the hospital to improve the health and quality of life of the people in our communities by providing advanced, high quality, cost-effective services and by doing so in a caring and compassionate manner.
