Mesquite Diagnostics, Dallas Regional Medical Center’s Outpatient Imaging Center, has acquired a Hologic Digital Mammography System. Digital Mammography is the fastest, most accurate way for women to get their yearly mammogram. “Digital Mammography is better than traditional mammography at spotting calcifications in women with denser breasts,” says Medical Director of Radiology Rebhi Awad, M.D., “and being a digital image, it’s easier for us to manipulate and study on the computer screen with the help of magnification, windows, and adjustments for brightness and contrast.” The Digital Mammography unit is housed in Mesquite Diagnostic’s new Women’s Imaging Area. This dedicated female-focused suite is Mesquite’s first and only imaging location designed exclusively for women. The Women’s Imaging Area also features bone densitometry, ultrasound and laboratory services.
As a result of the Digital Mammography System addition, Mesquite Diagnostics is now a Pink Ribbon Facility, part of an elite group of healthcare facilities across the US that have raised the standard of breast care by providing digital mammography exams and superior customer service. In being named a Pink Ribbon Facility, Mesquite Diagnostics, has been recognized for exceptional commitment and support to the women of our community.
